General information
Weather forecast
The climate in Novalja during the end of August is warm, so don’t forget your sunscreen and drink enough water. Daytime maximum temperature will average around 30°, with a temperature of 22° at night.
Currency exchange & ATMs
As of January 2023, the Croatian official currency is the Euro. ATMs are available on the whole island, especially in Novalja. This really is one of the easiest ways of obtaining money. The cheapest way to exchange your money is going straight to any bank in the city.
Minimum age
The minimum required age to attend Forbidden Island 2024 is 18+. Please bring valid proof of identification with you so that you do not risk being refused entry. Valid proof of identification includes a driving license, valid passport or identity card.
Drugs & alcohol
Croatia in general has a zero-tolerance policy on drugs. This is also heavily enforced by the local authorities (also in the form of undercover activities).
Wristband exchange
You can exchange your Festival Ticket, Day Ticket & Boat Party Ticket vouchers for wristbands at:
Saturday: Hotel Olea (14:00-22:00)
Sunday: Hotel Olea (14:00-22:00), Kalypso Club (20:00-04:00)
On other days you can get your wristbands at the entrance of the clubs during all parties.
Accommodation info
To check into your accommodation make sure to come to Hotel Olea on Saturday (14:00-22:00) or Sunday (14:00-22:00). Please prepare a security deposit of €50 cash per person. If you will arrive on the island later than 22:00 please inform us via email travel@forbiddenislandfestival.com
Airport transfers
When you have landed at the airport, make sure you come to one of the pick-up locations below 20 minutes before departure:

Boat parties
The Boat Parties (Dr. Peaock & Sefa, TITANIUM Festival, Dimi & Major’s Floating Fiesta and BKJN vs. Partyraiser) will depart from Novalja City Port (Obala Petra Krešimira 1, 53291 Novalja, Croatia).
Make sure you arrive at least 30-45 minutes prior to the start of the boat party. There will be a staff member that will guide you to the boarding point. Make sure you have your appropriate Boat Party wristband to show at the entrance.
Merchandise
Official Forbidden Island & BKJN Merchandise will be available at the merchandise stands at all the parties. We have prepared amazing merch for this year, so get ready to rave in style!
Getting around
Nothing is too far away at Zrće Beach but if you don’t feel like walking or want to explore further afield, you have plenty of options.
Taxis
Taxis are easily available at Zrće Beach. It’s easy to hail a taxi in the street or several companies have apps you can download to order your ride like Uber.
Public busses
Public busses operate frequently between Zrće Beach and Novalja. Many hotels and other places to stay are directly on the route. For more information please visit www.arriva.com.hr
Self-driving
If you have your own or a hired car, please remember there is no tolerance for drunk driving in Croatia. If you are under 25, you must have a 0.0 alcohol reading. Those over 25 can be no higher than 0.05.
There is a large car park at Zrće Beach, where you can park your car for the entire day.
